Scope and Contents The material contained in the two volumes was apparently written between 1808 and 1828, and describes amusing events in the life of 'Tibbie Flint' in Roxburghshire, Edinburgh, and London. Authorship and other details are given in a note at the beginning of the manuscript, dated 24 December 1890, in the hand of William, 3rd Earl of Minto, which reveals that Elizabeth Bell used to dress up and act the part of Tibbie Flint at Minto House.
